Founder

Colin is a dedicated lacrosse enthusiast with a strong background in the sport. Graduating from Towson High School and Frostburg State University, Colin now resides in Edgewater, MD.  Colin's passion for lacrosse has been a driving force throughout his life. As the Founder of the Maryland Lacrosse League (MDLL), he has created a thriving community for lacrosse players of all ages and skill levels. In addition to his role as Commissioner of MDLL, Colin also coaches the 2034 MDLL Select girls team.

Stephen Spence

Director of Teams

Steve Spence has been coaching in some capacity in Anne Arundel County for the last 25 years. He played his high school ball at Severna Park and was a starting midfielder at St Mary’s College of Md for all four years. He started Rockfish Lacrosse in 2008, when there were only a couple of other club teams and ran Rockfish for 14 seasons. His responsibilities as Director of Teams will be, but are not limited to: Making sure the coaches have everything they need to run their team efficiently; Help run and facilitate the schedules for our skills clinics throughout the year; Be a liaison between our Director of Communications and Director of College Recruiting; handle parent concerns or parent praises of the teams. We are excited to have Steve’s experience running a club program and look forward to the future!

Nina Gartenhaus

Communications Director

Nina graduated from Beth Tfiloh in 2017 where she was a captain for the varsity soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams. She earned her bachelors in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland. While at Maryland she volunteered as a student manager for the women’s basketball program and worked in the ticket office. She has been an assistant coach for the middle school and varsity girls lacrosse programs at Beth Tfiloh and is a certified personal trainer. Her responsibilities as Director of Communications will be, but are not limited to: Assisting with social media content; Helping out with event operations; Be a liaison between the teams and the professional staff.

PATRICK MARCH

Director of College Recruiting

Patrick March has been coaching lacrosse in Anne Arundel County for over 30 years. He has worked with players of all ages, from scoopers to post-collegiate clubs, and is currently the varsity head coach at Old Mill High School. Coach March has had the honor of coaching, high school Academic All-Americans, and multiple high school players who became collegiate All-American and All-Conference lacrosse players. Coach March was a presenter at the US Lacrosse National Convention and won the US Lacrosse’s Man of the Year Award for Anne Arundel County, in 2016. Using all this as our official college recruiter for MDLL Select and meeting with each family individually will provide helpful guidance to all players in MDLL. Fun fact: One of his sons, Patrick Jr.,  is the offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator for the lacrosse team at Syracuse University.

AMANDA BURNS

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Amanda graduated from West Virginia University in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems and a minor in Communications. She is the owner of Amanda Burns Media specializing in Social Media Management, Photography, and Videography. She is the Social Media Manager and Content Creator for Maryland Lacrosse League and MDLL Select.

Reig McConell

SPECIALTY COACH

Reig has been coaching and training athletes of all ages and abilities since 2004. His experience includes working with a range of experience levels, including youth sports, high school athletes, and adults, both for sport specific and general fitness training. His passion for sports, training, and competition started in high school as a multi-sport athlete. He began leading individualized and small group training while enlisted in the US Army, and followed his passion as he transitioned out of the military, becoming a high school team sport and strength and conditioning coach. Reig has since coached football, basketball, track and field, and weight training at the youth and high school level. He has worked with athletes who have gone on to play at all levels of college, from JUCO to D1. He has also completed multiple certifications in a variety of disciplines, including personal training, Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, and nutrition, just to name a few.
